Routine: (When Electric Bill Comes) Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Change or Inspect Air Conditioning Filter. Wash Kitchen exhaust Air Filter. Remove and Clean Clothes Dryer exhaust screen on outside wall. Look between wall and Clothes Dryer for Dust, Paper, and Clothes. Push that button on the Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Detector, DO NOT STOP until it test OK (change the Battery or replace the Detector) Check water softener. Add salt if needed. Clean garbage disposal by grinding up two trays of ice cubes made from a mixture of 1 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon of water. (Be certain to use the disposer cap when grinding.) For a pleasant odor following the cleaning, grind a lemon. Check the operation of ground fault circuit interrupters, usually found in bathroom, kitchen, garage and outdoor outlets. Call an Electrician for those not working properly. Check fire extinguishers. Replace or have serviced those that need it. Check to be certain nothing flammable is near a source of flame, such as a water heater pilot light, gas range, furnace, etc. Practice, Practice, Practice family Emergency Fire-Escape plan. Inspect electrical cords for damage. Repair or replace if needed. Test Safety procedures on Garage Door opener, start closing door, push old toy in front of safety eye at base of door, door should stop and reverse, place toy doll below door start door down, door should stop and reverse when it hits doll. Add treatment to septic tank system per manufactures instructions. Cleanout the gutters and downspouts. Remove tree leaves and limbs from Roof. Add food coloring to the toilet tank, if the color shows up in the bowl you have a leaking flipper valve in the tank.
